The City of Malden Recreation Department supports a healthy and active lifestyle for residents of all ages. Our goal is to provide safe, quality and affordable programs year round. Joe Levine, Program Coordinator, and Laura Perez, Recreation Clerk, work closely with instructors and volunteers to ensure they are professional and dedicated to serving our diverse community.
Our youth programs vary based on the season and generally run for 8 weeks at a time. Some of these programs include Tennis, Volleyball, Kickball, Soccer, Wrestling, and Goal Ball. Twice a year we run our Malden Youth Basketball Recreation League. The group is split into teams and rotated on a weekly basis to provide friendly competition. New this past Spring was our Girls Softball League. Teams were created based on age and games were played against Medford and Somerville.
Adults programs are also provided at varies times throughout the week to accommodate a busy work and life schedule. Some of these activities include Adult Street Hockey, Boot-Camp Sessions, Pickleball, Adult Open Gym, Women’s Soccer, and Free Tai-Chi. We are always adding new programs, check in with us frequently!
